We stayed here for two nights, b&b,to attend fathers funeral, easy to find place , ample parking,, pub is fantastic, wood burner , beam ceilings, great atmosphere, and being a Sunday , was serving carvery , and the place was packed, and full of locals , all friendly.. good stock of ales, ciders.. staff were lovely, felt like we had been friends for years,, The room we had was ample for what we needed,slept well, en-suite was clean ,, the breakfast was full English, and always enough … what a fantastic place , loved staying here , shame is wasn’t closer to us .. but the atmosphere and staff , are lovely, thank you all so much , for our stay , if we ever need to come this way, will definitely come back.. xx

A lovely place for a short stay. Rooms clean and comfortable. Food excellent especially breakfast. Staff are all so helpful and pleasant. As the owner said to us, there are still things that they need to do to get to their end goal. We would say that a priority is to tidy the outdoor areas of weeds and cut the lawns in the garden and play area. Overall we would highly recommend the Half Moon, which is excellent value for money. Thanks for a lovely stay.

We booked a very last minute stay over the bank holiday weekend. We were looking for a pub/restaurant with accommodation and came across the Half Moon. Pub/restaurant The weather was lovely so sat outside in their gardens. Staff were cheerful and helpful. We had booked a room for the night and informed that last orders for food was 4.45pm. Although early for us to eat, we had no other choice. We were then disappointed when people were coming in at 5.30/5.45pm and still ordering food. Can only assume these were locals as they were greeted by names. Food was well presented and nice. I had a pork roast dinner, lots of meat & Veg, disappointed with the roast potatoes. Very rubbery and hard. Hubby had fish & chips, again was very nice. We both opted for desserts, and the bottled wine, excellent. Breakfast the following morning was plentiful with plenty to choose from. Room Sold as a courtyard room, which is basically a very basic room in their carpark. The room was clean but dated. Really could do with being refurbished or just being touched up in places. The bathroom had no frosted Glass and also couldn’t leave the window open as it could have been easily accessed from the outside, which meant the whole room was extremely warm as there was no fan to cool down the room. The bathroom, although clean had a large amount of toilet paper pushed into the corner of the ceiling over the shower! Can only assume there’s a hole there and this is being used to fill it in. Quite noisy as the rooms are in the car park and the car park is gravel. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.

Really good food, very friendly staff, main bar full of character. Evening meal was fantastic, called ahead as we were running late, told not to worry as we would get fed. Very tasty, very good portion size. Room had a few cobwebs but not as issue, in the country side with windows open, this is to be expected. Next morning, noticed a few more small items, cup ring on bedside table (not a stain, it wiped off), older cobwebs and the water pressure was low, we only mentioned the water to staff, as the rest wasn't worth mentioning and were soon forgotten with the cooked to order breakfast was really good, took a little time but worth the wait. The staff said they'd mention water and we thought nothing more of it. Next morning water pressure was worse, shower basically unusable, we weren't too bothered as had showered day before and the owner or maintenance man took it seriously when I mentioned it and came to the room. We also ran out of loo roll, only one roll in room and the rooms are only visited by staff if you ask, so make sure you have two on day one if you are there for more than a day. We then went for breakfast, same lovely ingredients but not as good as the day before as was buffet. The place needs some TLC and I hope in the long run they get all the little issues sorted, as we'd love to stay again, but if I had to go back tomorrow, I'd definitely go for the food and I'd be sure to ask for a room without water pressure issues.

Can’t fault the Half Moon Inn. ALWAYS polite friendly helpful staff. Still serving food after 8 pm which is a rarity these days. Great beer, great menu. Love it!!!

First off, the staff at this place are absolutely brilliant, very welcoming, extremely friendly and as helpful as you could wish. It is situated in a very quiet location which is nice and only 25 miles from the pleasure beach but blink and you could drive straight past. The rooms are nicely sized but the beds are a bit on the small side. During my stay my room was very cold and the heating did not work and there was not portable heater. Also, the showers had little to no pressure which made the experience somewhat amusing. The drink selection at the bar was good and the menu is great. I would definitely stay again.

Stayed there one night while visiting the nearby 100th BG museum (Thorpe Abbotts) from the US. The staff were extremely accommodating, and the food we had was quite good. We enjoyed hanging out in the pub area and interacting with the local folks. Everyone was very nice, and we'll stay again should we find ourselves back in that part of the world.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We stayed two nights for our son’s wedding in a neighbouring village. Keighly met us on arrival and showed us to our rooms and her lovely daughter Elizabeth served us later at dinner. Both breakfasts were made and served by Aimee and Jenny (another mother and daughter team) and they wanted to know how the wedding day went and were keen to see photos we had taken. All in all a family approach to our family event made for an exceptional stay at the Half Moon. Thank you.

Revisited the half moon inn for a recent 60th birthday and it had changed so much, really friendly staff, food was reasonablely priced for portion size. They were very accommodating to some of our weird and odd requests. Will definitely be returning

Once again, Keighley, Justin and all the staff made our Veteran Wrens annual event a real highlight. The food was superb and the service excellent. Our ladies love visiting the Half Moon and are never disappointed.

Yeah all good. A cross between a British pub and American motel vibe with each having an outhouse across the car park. If I’m in the area I’d stay again. Food was decent and vibe nice in bar
